Automatic wheel measuring system

Objectives

• Being installed on the entry line of the depot, it recognizes the wheels when a train set passes through in a low speed and detects transformed wheels that may cause vibration and derailment accidents in their early stage through roundness, profile, diameter, and crack exploration tests to take proper corrective action. It is composed of automated measuring equipment, various sensors, and control computer. Being associated with higher level inspection information system in the depot, it manages wheel test results so that the results can be reflected on the effective preventive maintenance plan.

Main components

• Composition modules : Vehicle recognition module (include speed module), roundness and flat measuring module, wheel diameter module/profile image taking module, crack detecting module, management computer system, wheel for device calibration, jib crane (2 tons )

Job sequence

• Vehicle entry into the depot
• Vehicle entry into the wheel measuring house
• "2. Receiver" in the vehicle acknowledge module acknowledges "1. Transponder" attached to the vehicle
• Diameter / profile module measures wheel diameter and profile

• Roundness module measures wheel roundness
• Diameter / profile module measures wheel diameter and profile
• Crack exploration module measures cracks on the wheel, and complete simultaneous lifting
