The opening ceremony of Gyeonggang Line Seongnam~Yeoju Section

Korea Rail Network Authority (KR) successfully finalized double track construction project of Gyeonggang Line Seongnam~Yeoju Section, which departs from Seongnam, Gyeonggido to Yeoju via Gwangju and Icheon and had an opening ceremony at Yeoju station square. The project started in 2007, basic plan of which having been established in 2002, and was finalized after 9 years with budget of 2 trillion won and yearly manpower of 580 thousand workers. Kang Yeong-il, the CEO of KR,  announced that “The opening of Gyeonggang Line Seongnam~Yeoju Section will dramatically improve connectivity among cities in southeastern part of Seoul metropolitan area. When further connecting lines open, the line will contribute to national integration and economic growth.”
